Beautiful words. Beautiful song. I love this, Esther.

Thank you, Abigail!

I'm in awe! There is so much beauty to be found just by reading the words, but the music elevates it even more. It's 10am for me right now but it certainly has that sopoforic effect!

Thank you! I am glad. It has been such a blessing to watch this little song and tune be so welcomed and enjoyed here!

Chills, Esther. I'm going to get out my guitar presently...

Yeah, gonna need the two of you to start collaborating.

I actually had Kilby in mind while i was writing this, but it was because I was using "lie" and "lay" properly and she had written a note in that last couple months about the correct usage of those terms. I *always* struggle with lie/lay (also affect/effect). I ended up reaching out to my grammar teacher friend to confirm i was orthodox in my usage.

Oh, I regularly end up googling those, to be on the safe side!

But these are a nonsense refrain! They sound so much like “lullay”, typical syllables in lullabies. There’s no grammar issue.

But I’m glad I’ve been such a good influence 😂

I love your grammar notes! They make me think harder about word and punctuation usage.

You know, if your phone just *happens* to record you and your guitar, I would love to hear it... Just saying.

Absolutely lovely - your voice & the lyrics. I won't attempt to sing it. but I love the tune. A wonderful song for the season.

Thanks, dad

Love this, words and music both. I didn't know you wrote music! During covid lock downs, I cobbled together a tiny group of women across the globe and sent them poetry challenges for us to exchange via email. You would have been the perfect addition, had I known you then.

What?! Oh man! As Cher said, "if I could turn back time..." That sounds like the best use of lockout time ever. Keep me in mind if you ever do something like that again!

And thank you for your kind words.

Absolutely! Poetry projects are so inspiring. I also recently put a new song on my substack if you are interested. Not Christmasy...

Lovely!

Yes! My diabolical plan is working! *rubs palms together like Mr. Burns* ;)
